The University of South Florida recently announced the William W. & Judith A. Gaunt Professor in Library and Information Science, a position on the Sarasota-Manatee campus, will be conferred to James E. Andrews, a tenured full professor in the School of Information. The endowed professorship, the first for the School of Information, will establish the school’s presence at USF Sarasota-Manatee.

USF School of Information Shines at FLAIRS Conference with Award-Winning Poster
The USF School of Information showcased its expertise at the 37th Annual International Florida Artificial Intelligence Research Society (FLAIRS) Conference. The poster titled: “How did an election fraud narrative spread online? Testing theories using machine learning and natural language processing” received the Best Poster Award. Co-authored by USF Associate Professors Dr. Loni Hagen, Dr. Joshua Scacco, and Dr. Ly Dinh, along with undergraduate research assistants Diego Ford and Jahnae Edwards from the BSIS Data Science concentration, and Dr. Nic DePaula, Assistant Professor at SUNY Polytechnic Institute.
