USF Community Music Project

The USF School of Music offers ways to bring music to our community, for all ages and levels.
Through the Community Music Project, USF Faculty and current USF music students offer private lessons and classes for everyone interested in experiencing growing through music. These are available for students of nearly all ages (6 and higher) and all levels, ranging from complete beginners through very advanced. Depending on the instructor, lessons are available both at the School of Music as well as the convenience of online platforms.

Private lessons
Private Lesson Schedule: lesson times to be arranged with instructor
- Artist-Faculty (all are current professors who are USF Faculty): $525 for 10 weeks of 45-minute lessons. For the same tuition, 8 weeks of 60-minute lessons are available.
- Instructors (all are current USF Music Majors): $300 for 10 weeks of 45-minute lessons (or 8 weeks of 60-minute lessons).
- Special trial term (pending teacher availability): $180 for 3 weeks of 45-minute lessons, Artist-Faculty, or 5 weeks of 45-minute lessons with Instructors
Private lessons are available for all band and orchestra instruments, plus guitar, ukulele, voice, piano, pop piano, jazz piano, jazz saxophone, composition, jazz composition, theory, conducting, rapping, beatmaking, and more.
SPRING 2023 CLASSES
- Circles of Rhythm Adult Drum Circle with Alex Ocon Medina: Tuesdays, 5-6 PM. 10 one-hour classes, $180. This circle focuses on immersing the class in the captivating rhythms and techniques of Africa, the Caribbean, and Central American through call and response. Ten classes, beginning January 25.
- Ukulele Class with Haley Garrett: Thursdays, 6-7 PM. 10 one-hour classes, $180. Want to learn how to play the ukulele? Here you will learn how to play your favorite songs and get to jam with some awesome new friends! While this class will focus more toward beginners, all levels and ages 7 and higher welcome. Ten classes, beginning January 26.
