Vita
Sharon Segrest is a professor of management in the School of Information Systems and Management on the St. Petersburg campus, where she teaches courses related to organizational behavior, developing leadership skills, international management and staffing. Segrest is a recipient of a Muma College of Business Research Award and a Teaching Excellence Award. She has implemented the innovative "Search Inside Yourself" mindfulness and emotional intelligence training program into her Organizational Behavior MBA course and earned a Quality Matters certification for her efforts in that online MBA course. She also earned a Quality Matters certification in her MAN 3240 Organizational Behavior online course.
Her research has been published in journals such as Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Personnel Review, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, the Journal of Organizational Change Management, Management Decision and Cross Cultural & Strategic Management and has presented at national conferences and at conferences around the world in countries such as Australia, Canada, Brazil, France, Mexico, Peru and Spain. She has been with USF since 2007. Prior to joining USF, she was an associate professor at California State University-Fullerton. Segrest has served as a volunteer board member for RBK since its founding in 2014. Segrest earned a PhD from Florida State University, an MBA from Meredith College while working for Sandoz and Pillsbury, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
