TAMPA — The University of South Florida’s Nault Center for Entrepreneurship welcomed entrepreneur and philanthropist Marci Wilhelm for its "Conversation with a Founder" series on Oct. 28. Held on USF's St. Petersburg campus, the event provided an opportunity for students, faculty and local community members to gain practical insights into building a successful career in business.

Despite recent challenges from hurricane disruptions, the event saw a strong turnout. "I’m really excited for the event. The information is going to be priceless, and it’s a great experience," said Joseph Bond, a student at USF St. Petersburg, as he anticipated the conversation. During a reception with complimentary pizza and refreshments, attendees enjoyed networking before settling in for Wilhelm’s fireside chat.

In her keynote, Wilhelm shared her experiences as a leader in a competitive industry and reflected on challenges faced throughout her career. "There were a lot of things I regret," she said, recalling her early career as the only female leader at MedPartners. "I think I would tell my past self to believe in myself more and not be so willing to compromise or discredit my gut or intuition." Her story, including advice on resilience and self-confidence, resonated with students, who lined up afterward to connect with her directly.
