Janet is the Unit Research Administrator for the Department of Child and Family Studies. Her main responsibilities are pre-award grant proposal and submission as well as post-award contract renegotiations, modifications and extensions. She is also responsible for pay distribution for CFS. Janet began working at USF in fall 2007. From 2009-2017, Janet served as a USF TRAIN® Associate. This internal designation is given by the Research Administration Improvement Network (TRAIN®) to employees who have been vetted as subject matter experts in a particular aspect of pre-award and/or post-award. Janet provided expertise in the areas of Facilities & Administrative (F&A) Cost Rate, pay distribution and preparing project budgets. She served as a TRAIN Ambassador (1 of only 9 university wide) from 2015-2017. TRAIN Ambassadors represented their college and interests and provide input into trainings, meetings, and policy changes to the Department of Sponsored Research. She also served as a TRAIN Lead Instructor for the CRS-USF/Advanced Course. Janet has received numerous nominations and awards for her service, both to the university and department, including being a Research Administrator in the Spotlight for Research Administrator Day 2016.
