Cognitive Aging Lab
Dr. Edwards is an internationally recognized expert who has studied how cognitive abilities can be maintained and even enhanced with advancing age for more than 30 years. Ultimately, the goals of Dr. Edwards’ research are to extend the independence of older adults to improve their quality of life. She is particularly interested in how cognitive interventions (often referred to as brain fitness programs or brain games) help older adults to avoid or at least delay cognitive decline and dementia such as Alzheimer's disease. Her work has been published in more than 90 peer-reviewed journal articles and featured in media outlets such as PBS, The Today Show, and NBC Nightly News.
