Doctor of Audiology (AuD)

Overview

The USF Doctor of Audiology (AuD) program is a nationally accredited program that prepares students for careers as clinical audiologists.  As a profession, audiology is currently experiencing strong job growth, with career opportunities in academia, health care, and corporate settings.  

The program at USF resides in the CSD Department where students have access to state-of-the art clinical and research facilities and opportunities to work side by side with both clinical and academic faculty.   A wide variety of clinical opportunities is available to students, both on-campus and across the greater Tampa Bay community. The suburban campus is close to the many audiology practices that serve the 2.4 million people who live in the greater Tampa Bay area.  In addition, AuD students are exposed to cutting edge research conducted by an interdisciplinary faculty with backgrounds spanning psychology, linguistics, engineering, medicine and public health as well as audiology and hearing science.

For those individuals who are also interested in a PhD degree, the USF AuD program offers a concurrent degree program to allow AuD students to pursue an integrated program of study.  Students in the concurrent degree program will graduate with a clinical doctorate in audiology and a research doctorate in hearing science.
