ST. PETERSBURG - Dr. Kristen Buck, USF CMS Associate Professor, and CMS graduate student Travis Mellett were coauthors on a recent publication in the Annual Review of Marine Science that advances the understanding of iron in the ocean.
“The approach established and verified in this study opens a new way for determining Fe bioavailability in samples from across the oceans and enables modeling of in situ Fe uptake rates by phytoplankton based simply on measured Fe concentrations,” said Mellett in a new blog post summarizing the study.
