Athletics and Recreation
USF Athletics
USF’s 21 NCAA Division I teams compete throughout the year, achieving excellence in football, basketball, softball and more. Around game-time, USF students enjoy many perks, including:
- Free admission to every game (including football)
- Fan rewards
- Free transportation to watch the Bulls play football at Raymond James Stadium, famous home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Soon, students will cheer on the Bulls at our very own on-campus stadium.
RECREATION
From surfing to basketball to eSports, our over 70 intramural and club sport options allow you to find activities that interest you. Other recreation and fitness options include:
- Gyms on all three campuses
- Equipment rentals on all three campuses
- Adventure Trips for all students
- Pools at the Tampa and St. Petersburg campuses

Career Services
Are internships and employment on your mind? USF’s Career Services supports you in the process of envisioning, planning and achieving your career goals. Learn how to self-assess, conduct career research, seek out experiences that will give you transferable skills and search for full-time employment. Services include:
- Career Coaching offers career exploration, resume writing guidance and more to help you discover your career interests and find employment.
- Cooperative education integrates paid, hands-on, career-related work experience through your academic program and provides you with valuable training in your chosen career field.
- Internships offer an opportunity to perform hands-on work in your desired field and are often shorter in duration than a co-op.
- Job search prepares you for the post-graduation career search with a suite of services, including resume and cover letter preparation, employer research, networking tips, interview skills and tips on proper attire.
Student Resources
Student success sits at the heart of everything we do. To ensure the best possible outcomes , USF offers many resources for our students, including academic advising, tutoring and testing services and more.
The Transfer Engagement and Achievement Mentors program pairs you with a current USF transfer student who will answer your questions about student life, campus resources and more.
Military and Veteran Services
Ranked among the nation's most veteran-friendly schools, USF offers a number of unique programs and resources for student veterans. Get your degree from a nationally ranked university, find camaraderie among our large population of student veterans and receive ongoing support from our Office of Veteran Success.
We offer an out-of-state tuition waiver for any qualified veteran, dependent or active duty personnel who enrolls in our university. Additionally, our Pathways program walks students through the admission process and effective use of the GI Bill benefit.
USF is also one of the few universities in the nation with ROTC programs for all four military branches. We even have an ROTC living-learning community located in Maple Hall on the Tampa campus.
