Bio
Hi, my name is Stephen Sovilla. I am an Undergraduate Academic Advisor in the School
of Interdisciplinary Global Studies. I advise Political Science and Pre-Law students.
My goal with each student is to understand their academic strengths, then help them design
an academic plan that builds on their unique intellectual interests, to achieve the
personal and professional goals!
I received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The University of Cincinnati, and a Masters of Arts in Political Science from Ohio University. I have some local and state government work experience, from time spent working in the Nelsonville, Ohio City Manager’s Office, and within the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s Office of Employment and Training.
I was a Career Counselor for five years, where I assisted non-traditional students access educational opportunities in Northern Kentucky. I then spent five years as an Academic Advisor and Adjunct Instructor at The University of Cincinnati, where I helped exploratory/undecided students decide on their best fit major.
I am a Cincinnati, Ohio native, and am thrilled to be advising USF students in my former major in the warm and wonderful Tampa area!
Feel free to schedule an appointment. I look forward to helping you achieve your academic and career goals!
