Bio
Wendy M. Whitt is the associate director and an associate instructor in the Zimmerman
School of Advertising & Mass Communications. She teaches reporting and mass media
writing courses, and coordinates the internship program. Whitt also serves as the
Online News Association adviser.
She is a veteran newsroom leader who spent most of her career as a senior editor. She has been a reporter, copy editor and editor at newspapers in Florida, California and North Carolina. In Florida, she worked at The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. Her editing experience includes investigative and enterprise reporting; local, state and national politics; and local news. Multimedia storytelling and news packaging/design are among her areas of expertise.
