AFRICAN AMERICAN HERITAGE ASSOCIATION OF ST. PETERSBURG
AAHASP was created with a mission to preserve the rich history and genealogical heritage of African Americans in St. Petersburg, Florida, through research, restoration, preservation, commemoration, and education. AAHASP focuses on the cultural heritage of the neighborhoods, community leaders, and landmark businesses, and expands awareness and knowledge of Black St. Petersburg

AFRICAN AMERICAN HERITAGE TRAIL
The African American Heritage Trail is a self-guided walking tour that provides an overview of the African American influence and history in St. Pete. Covering more than a dozen city blocks in South St. Pete’s downtown area, nineteen markers identify landmarks and provide details about the history of St. Pete’s African American community.
Individuals, groups, and classes can arrange for a guided tour (walking or by trolley) by contacting the African American Heritage Association.

ASSOCIATION FOR THE STUDY OF African American LIFE AND HISTORY (ASALH) - ST. Petersburg, FL CHAPTER
Established on September 9, 1915 by Dr. Carter G. Woodson, ASALH are the Founders of Black History Month and carry forth the work of their founder, the Father of Black History. It is the mission of ASALH “To promote, research, preserve, interpret, and disseminate information about Black life, history, and culture to the global community.”
