UAV/Drone

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (drones) equipped with high-resolution digital cameras can be used to create 3D models of buildings and landscapes through aerial photogrammetry. This involves stitching together hundreds or thousands of photographic images in a computer program such as Pix4D, Reality Capture of Agisoft Photoscan, to create a point cloud and then a textured mesh. To fly a drone, the operator must have a valid drone license. Access 3D Lab has the following UAV equipment and peripherals, for use in research and teaching applications:
