Admission to the School of Music at USF is a two-step process. To be considered for acceptance, all prospective students must complete their application in the following order:
Step 1: Apply for admission to the University of South Florida.
To begin your admission application to the University of South Florida, please refer to the USF Office of Admissions website for requirements, deadlines, and information on how to apply. The links below will guide you through the requirements for admission for your specific academic status:

Step 2. Apply for a School of Music audition/interview.
Note: there is a $30 application fee to submit your application.
Simply upload your audition videos to GetAcceptd for USF. All auditions received prior to February 7, 2022 are eligible for scholarship consideration.
To complete your School of Music application you will need your U-Number (a unique University ID Number that is generated for you once you submit your online university application). You do not have to wait for a university admission decision in order to apply to the School of Music and schedule your audition.

Undergraduate Music applicants will also need to obtain the name and email address of at least one Reference - Music Director or Private Instructor (maximum of three).
Graduate Music applicants will need to obtain the names and email addresses of at least two References (maximum of three) relevant to the field of study for which you are applying.

Announce-A-Bull Day
An announcement of all students admitted to the School of Music will be made at 5pm (Eastern) on February 14, 2022! Each admitted student will receive a personal email and a listing of admitted students will be displayed on this web page.
“Day in the Life” On-Campus Experience
All students admitted to the School of Music are strongly encouraged to attend our on-campus experiences at USF on March 7, 2022. Pre-registration will be required. The schedule will include an 8:30am check-in, a general meeting for students and parents/guardians at 9:00am, an opportunity to attend classes and to tour the music building and campus, meetings with music faculty and current students, and a “prism-rehearsal” through-out the music building in the afternoon. Snacks will be provided in the morning and lunch will be provided around noon. Students can optionally schedule one-on-one meetings with select faculty. Experiencing the campus during classes is simply a must do - it will be an exciting and informational day!
Virtual Open House Dates (zoom)
We invite you and your family to meet faculty and current students specializing in different areas to learn more about the University of South Florida School of Music, its programs, and the audition process. Complete this form and we will send you a confirmation with meeting link to attend virtually from anywhere you are! The dates for these sessions are November 7 & 28, 2021, and January 9, 2022, so choose what works best for you. Contact Francesca Arnone, Open House Coordinator, for more information.
International Students
All international undergraduate applicants are required to follow the same School of Music policies and procedures outlined in the previous section of this page. Please be sure to visit the USF International Admissions page for more information related to academic requirements for admission, including TOEFL scores.
