Undergraduate Majors and Minors
The Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders (CSD) houses three majors:
LANGUAGE, SPEECH, AND HEARING SCIENCE B.A.
The Bachelor of Arts in Language, Speech, and Hearing Science prepares students for graduate studies and/or work in communication sciences and disorders or related fields. This program includes required coursework in a variety of topics within communication sciences and disorders.
ASL INTERPRETING AND DEAF STUDIES B.A., WITH ASL INTERPRETING CONCENTRATION
The ASL Interpreting and Deaf Studies major develops students’ understanding of the Deaf community as a unique sociolinguistic minority group. This major prepares students to work within this community in a variety of roles with particular emphasis on careers in American Sign Language education and in ASL/English interpreting. The major is designed with a multidisciplinary approach to the study of Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing people in the areas of teaching, language, community, history, culture, interpretation, and literature.
Each major within CSD requires daytime hours, the programs cannot be completed online or evening only.
