TOURNAMENT RULES

General Rules

  • USF Esports reserves the right to update any and all rules listed in the rulebook at any time throughout the tournament in an effort to ensure competitive integrity. All rulings, decisions and interpretations are at the discretion of USF Esports Staff.
  • Teams must use the Battle for Florida Discord and their designated voice channels during the entirety of their match.
  • Students must be actively enrolled in the school they represent and in good standing.
  • Roster Captains and/or Managers are required to take appropriate in-game screenshots or videos that display the final results of each Game and should be prepared to provide them immediately at the request of USF Staff and when submitting Match results. All matches must be reported in the "#match_reporting" channel of the Battle for Florida Discord.
  • The Roster that appears on the left of the Match page on the USF Battle for Florida Google Sheet will be considered the Home Roster and must host the Match; the other Roster will be considered the Away Roster.
  • The hosting Roster is responsible for communicating the Name/Password of the Private Match to the opposing Roster; if either Roster invites a Player/Spectator to a Game that is not a member of their Roster or School administrative staff member (i.e. coach, broadcaster) they may forfeit that Game, at the discretion of USF Staff.
  • Any Roster that wishes to use an external observer/spectator for streaming purposes is granted the right to do so.
  • Any Roster that is not ready to play their Match within 15 minutes after the scheduled start time may receive a forfeit loss for the Match at the discretion of USF Staff.
  • Rosters may freely substitute Players between Games in a Match, but the opposing Roster must be allowed at least five minutes between notification of the substitution and the start of the next Game; players may not be substituted during an ongoing Game.
    • All substituted Players must have been on a Roster before the start of the Match to be considered eligible.

Coaches

  • Coaches will be permitted to be in team voice channels for Rocket League and League of Legends.
  • During a match, a coach may only communicate with their players before, in-between games, and after; the coach is not allowed to further communicate or interact with the players in any way (i.e. during gameplay).
  • Tournament organizers will watch voice channels to ensure competitive integrity and any rule violations may result in a forfeit for that team.

Streaming

  • Stream sniping is strictly prohibited.

  • Any League of Legends streams that do no include the automatic 3-minute spectator delay must include a manual 3-minute stream delay.

Technical Problems

  • Each Roster is allowed 15 minutes of pause time in a Match for disconnects and other technical issues.
    • There is no minimum or maximum time that a pause may last, as long as it does not exceed the allotted 15 minutes.
  • If a Roster exceeds their allotted pause time they may forfeit the current Game, at the discretion of League Officials.
    • For example: If a Roster pauses and is able to resume play within one minute, they have 14 minutes of pause time left to use throughout the series.
  • When a Roster has used 15 minutes of pause time they must resume and will no longer be able to pause a game in progress.
  • Both Rosters must agree to resume a Game before doing so.

League of Legends Ruleset

  • A Game must be restarted if a Player disconnects in the first round of the Game and before the first player is eliminated.
    • If a Player disconnects from a Game after the first round or after the first player is eliminated, the current Game must be played to completion and the disconnected Player should rejoin as soon as possible.
    • Any Team that leaves a Game following a Player disconnection, unless specifically provided for above, may forfeit the current Game, or Match, at the discretion of USF Staff.
  • During the first round of a Game and before any Player has been eliminated, Teams may agree to restart and/or switch either the host or the Server (if applicable) if connectivity issues significantly hinder gameplay.

Rocket League Ruleset

  • Pool Play:
    • Map 1 & 2: Utopia Coliseum (Normal) | Map 3 & 4: DFH Stadium (Normal)| Map 5: Champions Field (Normal)
  • Rosters may not join their designated side until three (3) Players from each Roster have joined the Private Match.
    • Any Game started before all Players have joined may result in a Game forfeit for the offending Roster.
  • Within 15 seconds of the start of any Game and before either Roster has scored, Rosters may agree to restart and/or switch either the host or the Server (if applicable) if connectivity issues significantly hinder gameplay.
