Please read carefully: Critical graduation, ETD, and candidacy deadlines below.
Spring 2022 Deadlines

Please note:
- If you have not applied for graduation by the deadline, you can still apply late,
up until the last week of classes.
- Failure to register for ETD by the deadline will prevent you from participating in commencement, but it will not prevent you from having your degree conferred this semester.
- Departmental deadlines are set to allow 2 weeks processing before College deadlines.
*IMPORTANT: Your graduation must be certified by the department, the college, and Graduate Studies, in addition to defense, thesis, and dissertation deadlines. That means that the APS needs to fill out paperwork and have it processed by a certain date in order for you to graduate. You must be very clear with the APS about whether or not you intend to graduate, as there are those who choose not to graduate the same semester they defend. (Merely submitting your ETD is not enough for graduation.)
Your deadline for letting the APS know whether you want to graduate this semester
is November 5th.
(Please note: If your plans change after informing the APS, let the APS know immediately.
Once they send out your graduate certification, they usually cannot take it back.)
