04/30/24 — Dr. Xiaomei Jiang, associate professor in the Department of Physics, is a dedicated researcher in the field of spintronics. Spintronics is the study and use of the spin of electrons and holes to create faster and more efficient electronic devices. The goal of spintronic devices is to harness and manipulate electron spin to enhance data computing performance compared to conventional electronics.
