The Zimmerman School at the University of South Florida seeks to fill two 9-month, full-time Assistant Instructor positions in Broadcast News beginning in August 2022. The successful candidates will have opportunities to teach a range of courses, including news programming and production, advanced reporting, broadcast news, and writing for radio and TV. The successful candidate also may be involved in directing Florida Focus, a student-produced news program that airs on the Tampa Bay PBS affiliate in the nation’s 13th largest media market.
Visiting Professor of Practice – Job ID #30526
The Zimmerman School at the University of South Florida invites applications for a 9-month, Visiting Professor of Practice position (non-tenure track) for the 2022-2023 academic year with possible extension for a second and/or third year. This position involves teaching and administrative responsibilities, with a start date of August 7, 2022. The successful candidate will have opportunities to teach a range of courses including media management, media entrepreneurship, news programming and production, global media and special topics. The successful candidate will consult with Zimmerman School leadership on strategic planning, fundraising/advancement and partnership development and will work with faculty on curriculum innovation, producer training, digital newsroom development and career preparedness activities. Salary is negotiable.
