Jon Tucker began teaching as an adjunct at USF in the Fall of 2017. His responsibilities
include teaching undergraduate jazz saxophone lessons and a small jazz ensemble.
Tucker earned a Master of Music in Jazz Studies from the University of South Florida
and a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
Tucker is an active performing saxophonist in the Tampa Bay area as well as a sound
engineer in live and studio settings. He performed on the most recent Trans-Siberian
Orchestra album ‘Letters from the Labyrinth’ and works as a music engraver for their live tour. He also worked as an assistant
engineer on Chuck Owen’s multi-Grammy-nominated albums ‘Whispers on the Wind’ and ‘River Runs: A Concerto for Jazz Guitar, Saxophone, & Orchestra’.
