GA/RA/TA, Department Sponsor, and Mandated Policy Information

GA/RA/TA 

Eligible GA/RA/TAs can enroll for the USF insurance subsidy during Open enrollment periods offered at the start of the semester. Please note that summer enrollment is limited to new employees only.

*Summer Semester A/C Open Enrollment: May 1, 2019 – June 11, 2019  (NEW)
*Summer Semester B Open Enrollment: June 1, 2019 – July 15, 2019 (NEW)

*This is for Summer Only coverage. If you have already enrolled in Annual or Spring/Summer coverage, your benefits will end on 8/16/19. You do not have to enroll in Summer coverage.

To be eligible for the 2019 Summer insurance subsidy, you must meet both of the following elements for the coverage period you select:

  • Be an active employee in the USF GEMS employment system in one of the following job codes:
    • 9181, 9182, 9183, 9184, 9185 or 9550
  • Work a minimum of 10 hours a week (.25 FTE of higher)

Once you have an offer letter, a Social Security Number, and a valid email address, click here to enroll, then click on "Student Enroll" (on the left side menu on the Welcome USF Page).  Please make sure to enroll using the first and last name listed on your Social Security Card. 

International Students: Enroll online no later than May 13, 2019 to meet the State of Florida mandate for insurance coverage. 

Department Sponsor

If you are being sponsored by the University and are not GA/RA/TA, you must enroll by the first day of classes, May 13, 2019. Student/Scholars funded by your department/scholarship/grant enroll here.

Mandated Policy

Students in the programs listed below are eligible for the USF student health insurance policy. You may enroll here for Summer 2019 coverage between May 1, 2019 and June 15, 2019.

  • College of Marine Science
  • College of Medicine
  • College of Nursing
  • College of Pharmacy
  • Intercollegiate Athlete
  • International Student on Optional Practical training or Curricular Practical training
  • Wellness USF Student Employee

Open Enrollment for the Summer 2019 year will begin on May 1, 2019.
